A statement from the Patriarchate of Menbera regarding the celebration of baptism. In the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, baptism is one of the most important public holidays celebrated with a great spiritual ceremony.

 

The baptism of our public spiritual holiday, which is registered as an intangible heritage by UNESCO, will be celebrated this year with a grand ceremony. For the festival to be celebrated brightly and beautifully, the General Office of the Menbera Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church by His Beatitude Abune Abraham, the General Manager of the Menbera Patriarchate, the Archbishop of Bahir Dar and North Gojam Diocese. 

 

The chairmanship committee has been organized and is fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to it in each sector. Accordingly, today, the General Assembly of the Archdiocese reviewed the work performance of each committee and gave direction on the work to be done in the remaining days.

 

It is said that the pre-preparation work of the festival is being done well and it is said that the badge preparation, stage and sound system, as well as Janmedan decoration work, and the publication of the Mehra Karkishvi magazine have been done.

 

In general, the preparatory works are being successfully carried out, so that the festival can be celebrated brightly and beautifully, it is remembered that the general manager announced in the previous statement that the people should come out to celebrate the festival in a manner that is more Christian than ever.
