About 36 of the suspects are employees of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), who have been arrested on allegations of human rights teset.
The remaining 28 are from the state-owned Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC), including Brigadier General Tena Kurdin, who have been detained on allegation of serious corruption.
The suspects are accused of misusing billion of US dollars from sugar, Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and Yayu fertilizer projects as well as undertaking procurement in breach of the rule and using two ships for illicit trade.
The federal high court 10th criminal bench granted additional 14 days for police and adjourned the next hearing until November 26, 2018.
