Ethiopia: Journalist Temesgen Desalegne's Fitih magazine response to recent claims.


Dr Abiy Ahmed has encouraged graduates of higher learning institutions to commit to principles of service, giving, resilience, love and lifelong learning.

He also called upon graduates to nurture an open mind, according to office of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister made the remark while addressing the Addis Ababa University (AAU) 2011 E.C. graduating class this morning.

He also expressed his pride and well wishes for the new graduates.

The Premier described universities as spaces for exploration, critical analysis and research, requiring engagement with various thoughts.

The Addis Ababa University graduated a total of 9,637 students in different fields of study and also conferred honorary degree for two individuals.

The University awarded the honorary degree to Mr. Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines and Grand Mufti Sheik Umer Iddris, Chair of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Council and Chair of Ulema.
